Public visitors
Anonymous page loads always read cached Macro values. Sync is never triggered by a public visitor — only by dashboard actions, editor sync (with capability), scheduled jobs, or Management API.
Locked fields
Synced variables appear locked so editors cannot overwrite automation. To change the value, fix the upstream JSON / mapping or temporarily change the source strategy (admin).
