Assets & media

Use the website asset library to upload, pick, and replace images on editable fields — from the overlay or the Dashboard.

Two places, one library
Images belong to the website. You can pick them while editing in the overlay, or manage the library under Dashboard → Assets for the same site.

Replace an image in the overlay

  1. Select the image field

Click the image on the page or open its field in the sidebar. Image primitives show a preview and a control to choose an asset.

  2. Pick from the library

Open the asset picker, select an existing file, or upload a new one (when your role allows). Macro writes the chosen asset into the draft for that content key.

  3. Publish when ready

Like text, image changes live in the draft until you publish.

Asset library tips

  • Prefer uploading once and reusing the same asset across pages.
  • Use clear filenames so teammates can find media later.
  • External images (hotlinked URLs) may show an EXT style marker in the editor — prefer library assets for production sites.
  • Admins can also automate assets via the Management API (assets:read / assets:write) — see API tokens.

Do

  • Upload final art into the site library before a campaign goes live.
  • Check draft preview after replacing hero or OG images.
  • Coordinate large media cleanups with an Admin in Dashboard → Assets.

Don’t

  • Don’t rely on temporary external URLs that can break later.
  • Don’t expect unpublished draft image swaps to appear for anonymous visitors.
